The Esther Project - A Musical: Countdown!

🌟 Exciting News Alert! 🌟

September 24, 2024 – 8 Months to Go!

We’re officially 8 months away from the highly anticipated debut of The Esther Project – A Musical! The journey so far has been nothing short of extraordinary, filled with passion, dedication, and boundless creativity. From humble beginnings with just Jackson and myself, our team has blossomed into a powerhouse of 10 exceptional artists, technicians, and visionaries.

Exciting Summer Milestones

  • Rehearsal Space: We’re thrilled to announce that the Lake Country Alliance Church will be our home from March-May!  We feel so blessed to have this space and are super excited to be able to store a few props and only have to go to one space for the duration of rehearsals! Big thanks to LCAC for hosting us! We will treat your space with great care.
  • Music Workshop: August 6-8th was a huge success! Thanks to the help of over 15 musicians and singers, Jackson and I were able to hear the full score of EPM for the first time, live in color! The 3 day event was so much fun. We met  incredible people and made some amazing iterations to the score. We will be so ready when March hits!

Ticket Sales and Auditions

  • Ticket Sales: I had hoped to have tickets up and running in July, but alas, it was still a bit early, I  must admit, I am a planner!  However,  tickets will be available soon! I will keep you posted!
  • Auditions: Audition packets are being sent out as we speak and we are getting some amazing candidates for the show. We have a very large cast which means we need lots of creative, inspired, fun humans to collaborate with. Auditions are November 8-10. For more info contact Angela Quinn Casting

Help Build Original Musical Theatre in the Okanagan

Musical Theatre Offers so many cultural and societal gains to a community.

It impacts our economy through job creation and tourism.

It brings educational value to those looking to foster skills such as public, speaking, creative thinking; especially in young people.

It promotes diversity by supporting inclusivity while learning to understand other cultures and perspectives.

Theatre is inspiring and encourages participants to be creative as well as help an audience to think outside the box.  It is important to appreciate art. This is a part of our creative cognitive function.

These positive impacts make musical theatre a valuable and integral part of society, contributing to the cultural, social, and economic fabric of communities worldwide.

The Esther Project- A Musical - The Journey

Check out a sample of  The Esther Project – A Musical Soundtrack!

This modern day story of Esther will take you on a journey of courage, truth, discovery and laughter. Who knew what Andie would be facing when she started working at Hard Core just one year ago?  How is Neo, a simple angel from Halo division, going to help her get through it  when his supposed mentors seem to be having problems of their own?  Maybe the Esther Project  comes at the perfect time for Andie, or some may even suggest, for such a time as this.

MY DEEPEST DESIRE FOR THE ESTHER PROJECT IS TO OFFER A PROFESSIONAL MUSICAL EXPERIENCE TO THE OKANAGAN AT A PRICE THAT EVERYONE CAN AFFORD. BEING ABLE TO EXPERIENCE LIVE MUSIC WITH OUTSTANDING SINGERS AND ACTORS IS INSPIRING FOR OUR LOCAL TALENT AND IS SOMETHING THAT CAN CREATE A SPARK TO PURSUE PASSIONS. EVERYONE DESERVES TO SEE THEATRE.

A group of eight openhearted actors completed the first full table read of the Esther Project- A Musical.  It was a magical evening filled with laughs, singing, and yummy snacks. The reading provided Tammy with the feedback she needed to help grow the story and characters in the show.

The word theatre comes from the Greeks. It means the seeing place. It is the place people come to see the truth about life and the social situation. The Theatre is a spiritual and social X ray of its time. ~ Stella Adler.

Tammy Andreotti

Writer, Producer, Assistant Director

I know that I have been placed on this earth for a period of time. It is not an accident where I live or who my parents are. God has placed me exactly where he wants me so that I can be his servant so that I can live in this world and shine His light where it is needed. He has been equipping me since I was born to carry out his purposes for me. Some I have nailed and some I am sure I have missed completely. But heh, that’s okay, I’m not perfect.

This is my first original script (not including all the ones I made with my sister Shawna in the backyard). Though writing is new for me, theatre is not.  I had the privilege of working on 13 shows under Camille Martens of Okanagan Rhythmic Gymnastics Club in Vernon, BC. These incredible experiences gave me many of the tools needed to develop a show from the roots up.  I remind myself every day to be excited and curious about this incredible journey. Soon show day will be here and I will arrive at my final destination.

Jackson Buller

Composer, Musical Director

Jackson Buller is a talented 21 year old emerging artist from Vernon, BC. His band, Roots and Strings, is only a small part of his world. Jackson joined the Esther Project as soon as there was music to be written. His creativity and love for music is obvious and his intuition of writing a score is incredible to witness. Jackson currently attends Ambrose University in Calgary, AB and will graduate with a Bachelor Degree in Music in 2025, a week following his graduation ceremony, he will be directing his score live before an audience for the first time! What an incredible achievement.

Carly Beckner

Choreographer

Meet Carly Beckner, a talented choreographer whose passion for dance blossomed during her competitive dancing years. From a young age, Carly dazzled audiences with her comedic and quirky variety solos, earning recognition at the Vernon festival and an invitation to the 2022 House of Jazz Artistic Development Program in London, UK.

With a background in dance and education in acting from Capilano University and English from UBCO, Carly now choreographs captivating routines for young dancers and competitive group pieces. Her creative touch was evident in choreographing for the Unite Dance Club’s showcases at UBC Okanagan.

Balancing her choreography projects with acting, Carly’s versatility shines in her role as Rizzo in Grease the Musical at the Kelowna Actors Studio. Excited for a new challenge, Carly joins the team behind The Esther Project – A Musical,  “This is my first time choreographing not only an entire brand-new show, but a brilliant locally-written musical”.

Avery Taylor

Director

With a solid foundation in performance and education, Avery’s directing experience spans from solo graduating shows to productions at institutions like the University of British Columbia and the Burnaby Heritage Museum. Their instructional prowess extends to leading acting workshops, including notable sessions such as Tammy’s play workshop.

Avery’s acting career is marked by collaborations with emerging theatre companies within the lower mainland, contributing to the development of original works. Notable projects include performances with Little Dipper Theatre and Curious Creations Collective.

As a specialist in devised theatre, Avery excels in bringing original works to life, blending creative vision with logistical expertise. Her dedication and meticulous planning ensure the success of each project, as evidenced by the impactful Esther Project workshop.

“My sole intent is the unification of production and artistic elements that support Tammy’s vision for her theatrical debut.”
